"There's a sunrise and a sunset every day, and you can choose to be there for it -- you can put yourself in the way of beauty." -Wild
I can truly say that Phoenix, Scottsdale and all of the surrounding cities has some of the most beautiful, epic and soul wrenching sunrises and sunsets you will ever witness. They have the ability to light up the soul and see the world in the most magical light. Plus, they're just really, really pretty and who can't appreciate that?
What's so different about Phoenix?
One of the most defining aspects about Phoenix is the landscape of the Sonoran Desert. With the majestic saguaros that are hundreds of years old. The cascading mountains of valley and surrounding areas. In the summer, the monsoon season with thunderous clouds and possible dust storms that can come out of nowhere. A Phoenix sunset never disappoints with its hidden gems that seem to pop up as the sun descends further into the night. Can we say, Neon Sunset, oh yeah!
Can't I just go outside and take a picture?
Sure, you could... But there are so many different elements into figuring out how the sunset will hit, what time of the year is it, what is the cloud cover like.... I could go on. Why not allow someone to take care of that for you. Maybe even teach you a few tricks to understand a desert sunset better.
What if there is bad weather or no weather?
My big thing is just show up and see what happens. There have been some hard lessons of thinking nothing will happen and leave too early, then get an epic show 5 minutes later. This is also Mother Nature, so she is going to do what she wants and we just have to honor that.
What would a sunset photography tour look like?
First, its going to be beautiful, fun and majestic. There is no such thing as a bad sunset. The time frame is about 2-3 hours, depending on nature and what you're looking to capture. Since the valley of is vast, travel time will need to be considered as well. Once at the location, we can consult on the best way to highlight what you're looking to get out of the photo shoot, with the light, the clouds and the surrounding scenery.
